Zoe Saldana talks Guardians of the Galaxy and we have all the details. The gorgeous actress will be playing the alien seductress, Gamora, and Saldana has been quite candid lately, giving us a few sneak peaks into what we can expect. She dished to absolute radio that she actually had not been a fan of the comics beforehand, but she insists that that approach is ideal for her saying quote " I think its always worked for me to learn as I go. The moment I get the job, thats when I start doing the research and then i end up falling completely in love with the franchise. I just do know that I loved the script when I read it."
As far as the look and feel of Gamora, she says that she of course will be green, and in a separate interview with Total Film she said with a sigh of relief that the character will actually be her, and not any motion capture. Which makes us think that the actress was referring to her laborious work on James Cameron's Avatar. Speaking of Avatar, Marvel's Kevin Feige is certain that Saldana's Avatar fans will respond similarly to the star in Guardians saying "It's a huge story on a massive canvas...We can take it to all those crazy places as long as all the characters respond in an emotionally truthful way. That's why I believe people are going to respond to Chris Pratt and to an alien Zoë Saldana—because they did respond to that one time before [with Avatar]. And to a tree and a raccoon who, it is certainly our intention, will steal the whole movie." As far as the feel of this movie, Feige hinted that it was definitely going to have it's own feel from some of the other Marvel properties. And he even hinted that it could feel like some other familiar franchises saying quote "Guardians takes place within the continuity of the [other movies] but it's on the other side of the universe. We've always wanted to do a space movie. I'm obsessed with Star Wars, I'm obsessed with Star Trek." Very interesting. Zaldana will be heading to London to shoot over the next four months or so with the rest of the Guardians cast which includes Chris Pratt as Starlord, Dave Bautista as Drax The Destroyer, Michael Rooker as Yondu. And just for you guys, we will keep our ears open as we hear updates on new castings. But from what we know so far, what are you thoughts and feelings about the progress of Guardians of the Galaxy?
